Title: Western Bears
Post by: Matt83 on September 13, 2015, 10:01:01 PM
Well I just realized tonight that bear is open till Nov so figured I'd get off my butt and get out there and have a look and see if I can't find a smokey. I live in Lacey unfortunately so I'd like to stay on the western side and a little closer to home on the weekends. I've only been in the Olympic NF driving around and would assume bears are in there, I've heard the Mt. Rainier area is a good place to look also. Am I on the right track here? Not looking for anyone's honey hole, just was wondering if I'm on the right track and am thinking of the right places to go. And of course by all means if someone would like to point me in the right direction I'm all for it. Just got down here from Alaska, thanks Army, so this will be my first big game animal in WA. I was born and raised in Oregon so I'm at least familiar with the thick brush that comes with it. Thanks guys

Capital forest just south of you has some good bear hunting, but you have to have a discover pass.
