Recently picked-up a Winchester Model 70 in .300 Win Mag. According to the serial number it is a 1978 model.
It came with a Weatherby Supreme 3-9 scope.
Any one have any experience with the Weatherby line of scopes?
I am guessing it is from that same era, as the fellow said he purchased it as is from the original owner.
Not sure it is going to stay on the rifle, but am just curious about it and hoping someone may have owned one or still does and can tell me a little about the quality, performance, etc.
Don't know how rare these are or if they are worth anything as far as collectibility?
Something I should pull off and tuck away or just an average value scope with a fancy name??

I looked a little, probably made by Asia Optical that now has operations all over the far east. Many big names come out of there facilities

Thanks, I seen probably the same info you did.
I did see a few recently sold on ebay for $125.00ish to $300.00 & change... quite the range, couldn't really see any difference between them and mine.
Maybe I will just pull it and toss it up for auction and see how much of the purchase price I can recoup.
If it doesn't sell, can save it for a .22 or .17 that I am sure I need! :chuckle:

If it has the windage and elevation adjustments both on top of the scope as did the Weather by Imperial series they were made by Nickels scopes in Germany.

Nope, just the standard top & right side locations....
