Long Island Iced Tea, Club style...

In a iced shaker cup mix the following:

Equal parts of

Vodka
White Rum
Gin
Triple Sec

Squeeze in the juice of half a lemon and half a lime.  Shake over ice until frosted.  Pour off and drain into a high ball glass.   Add 1 1/2 oz Sweet and sour and ice.

Last thing, float a layer of Coke on top, garnish with a lemon slice and a orange slice.

Drink with caution.  We had a name for these, they were called "sorority house key".
Just wanted to quote this to try it later.

Yeah, but I figure it would work as a key for my wife. And I haven't had a long island ice tea since college.... Only about 26 years ago.8)

Macs recipe is what we used to use.  Though we called it "wild redhead starter fluid" :chuckle:  Never really cared that much for the ones I made myself.  But I used to stay at The Sands in Vegas quite often.  Theirs was a completely different.  Thinking they used a different sweat and sour.  Drank gallons of that stuff there!

You do know if you play the dime slots you get them for free every ten minutes, right?  :o

Just play slow and drop a single dime at a time...

My wife is still upset they wouldn't give her free drinks at the penny slots.  She was a nervous wreck losing all those pennies.  She could have used a drink!  :chuckle: :chuckle:

Yep! We would hang out at the PENNY slots and the drink girls didn't care as long as the tips were flowing.  :twocents:  :twocents:  :twocents:  :twocents:

We had to wait a long ass time in line to get into that night club and definitely was reminded of the need I prefunk!

When I tended bar at the South China Doll we made them with vodka, tequila, rum, gin, triple sec, sweet and sour mix and Coke.
10 years of satisfied customers.

In the 80s we used to get 1$ Iced teas at a place in the U District called Lock, Stock & Bagel.

Genuinely surprised we all actually lived through it.

Thanks all. Been looking at various interpretations on the classic as my wife says in general that I mix good drinks but my Long Island's suck. One thing I do differently is to use 1/2 a shot instead of a full one as 5 shots in one erink is a bit too much IMHO. Although I suppose to stay married to me she deserves needs 5 full shots!   :chuckle:

If you want a good one, go to the bar at Lombardis on the Everett waterfront and have Stephen make you one.  Very tasty.
