Post by: elkontherun on September 18, 2015, 10:25:47 PM
There is a salmon derby in castle rock tomarrow 9/19 it started today but there is only mabey 12 fish weighed in.  The biggest so far is 16.2 lbs gutted and gilled.  The money raised goes to support the north county recreation  sports complex.  It is a great cause and a chance to win a little money.  60 dollars gets you in the derby and also gets you a dinner after weigh in. There will be a beer garden and lots of food and prizes.  You can register at the boat launch in castle rock starting at 530 am.

I was told the derby got cancelled, not enough entries.  Is that true?  If it did happen, who won?

They didn't do a very good job promoting this derby. When boats were in line to launch nobody from the derby even tried to push the tickets.  :dunno:
