This little buck doesn't seem to like apples...
-
Maybe he just doesn't like apples growing on fir trees.
-
He didn't like the pile of apples on the ground either.
-
My experiences have shown that if they are store bought the Blacktails don't touch them, I tried just about every type from the store (and washed them) and only got bears, skunks and raccoons to eat them. ... I also had pics on the TC of deer that would pass by daily and not even give them a whiff :dunno: Good luck blackies are the hardest to bait IMO.

I've never used store bought apples for bait. It's weird, the elk in this area don't like them either. Well, I shouldn't say that. They've eaten a couple. But mostly the pile of apples looks untouched, even after a few weeks.

Like I said I've had the same results as you move your bait and camera and eventually you'll find one that does. The other thing is how far away is the tree you are getting them from? I also found that if you are moving them too far from the original tree they didn't work as good, I also didn't have luck moving them to much higher areas where there aren't apple trees that are indigenous to that area.

In my stand lastnight I dropped two store bought apples on my corn pile. Touch and not washed by my hands the doe just ate them without hesitation.
