So my son wants to get a semi auto and I notice that there is a grip problem for him with any of my handguns, except the .357 full frame revolver. Any feedback on the Glock 21 from someone with extra large hands? My son is 6'4", but his hands are a little larger.

My hands a larger than average. I have a G-30 it's a double stack .45 and is comfy to shoot really like it but I'm not really a hand gun guy just my :twocents:

I will have to look at the P14.

The Glocks 20/21 frame is considered too big by a lot of people, so it's a good candidate for someone with big hands.

My dad had really huge hands, he had just gotten a new Glock 20 at the end of last year that he said was the first semi-auto that felt comfortable in his hands.

The FNX 45 holds 15 rounds of 45 acp in the magazine and is huge in my hands and i am really comfortable with a full size 1911 or full size revolver. :twocents:

XL gloves for me are usually borderline size wise. I've been comfortable with the full frame Glocks. 20, 21 or 22. I have a 23 and think it's about perfect for carrying during hunting.

I have the g20sf and several other 1911's. I would suggest shooting a g20/21 before buying. They're great for reliability, but requires a lot more attention to detail in form. The 1911 will be much more forgiving.

My hands are like hams and I personally like compact and sub-compact semi-autos. 10mm Glock 29sf, Springfield 9mm 13+1 etc. I don't like the high cap, full frame semis, because they are too big and heavy to wear on my side in a belt holster.

I agree that the larger frame frames are a pain to carry...I doubt if he will be carrying. This is more about shooting a lot with a handgun that fits. I think once you are comfortable shooting a lot, you can shoot anything reliably well. I feel most natural with a Beretta 92, but usually carry a compact .45.

I have big paws and I love my S&W mp 40 best gun I have owned hands down.

Maybe look at a Sig Sauer P250 Compact. They are a nice gun, but they aren't a true compact like you think they would be. I have one in 9mm and it's almost the size of a 1911.

I dont think I have overly large hands but they aren't small either. A Glock 19 is just too small for me to hold comfortably (my pinky sits under the magazine or I can TRY to keep it on the grip but inevitably it ends up under the magazine). Of the guns I own the ones that fit my hand the best are the Glock 20/21 (SF or not, either or feels ok to me), a full-size 1911 (dont own one but I've shot several, they all fit well) and a FA .454 (mebbe not the best for concealed carry). Back in the service a lot of people complained that the M9 was "big", I always thought the grip was just a touch small.

Full size are good, but when your pinky is involved..... I carry compacts to keep my girlish figure in check. I don't like the weight of a big cannon pulling at my side, making my pants sag down to my butt. :chuckle:

I have a fixed blade knife, 8" crescent wrench, pliers, and vice grips worn on my belt all the time so I'm out of room for a gun anyway (also it's not flattering to my figure). Do they make a bra holster for a Desert Eagle? Maybe I'll try one of those out. :chuckle:

My wife says no on the bra holster....

I have size 13 hands and the XDM .40 fits wonderfully in them. It has become my all around carry and have a few other safe queens because of it too.

Try the Bro Holster.
