Title: Salmon Fishing for Noobies
Post by: silverdalesauer on September 23, 2015, 08:03:44 AM
So I've been learning how to Salmon fish this season and I've spent a lot of time with my nine-year-old son at point no point and other locations shore fishing. We haven't had a lot of success, but we have had a lot of fun. Honestly, he's the one who begs me to go every spare moment. I want to keep his passion for the outdoors alive. It beats watching TV or playing video games.

He hooked into his first pink salmon about a month ago, but we haven't had a chance to go out since.

I'm wondering if shore fishing is still the best option or should we be heading to the rivers now?

Any advice you could offer on places to fish, tackle to use, or tips in fishing with a nine-year-old would be greatly appreciated.

We live in Kitsap county and are looking for a place close by.

Suggestions?
