My sob story. Have a torn Achilles' tendon. After elk season in 2 weeks I will be off work for 4 to 6 weeks. I'm right across from the lake so I figure I'll hit it hard and learn as much as I can.
I really want to catch Kokanee, but don't know if they are still biting. Following that id like to hook some of the monster trout in there.
Can anyone please help me out with proven baits and methods to use? Even if you have something in mind that might work ill try it out for you and let you know. :chuckle:
Info on any other fish is welcome, but would like to hit the monster rainbows and Kokanee.
Thanks.

My go to rig for big trout is a one once banana sinker with a Double Wammy that I have replaced the hooks is came with, with gamakatsu hooks. I very the leader length from 24" to 48" . Thread a third of a night crawler up the shank of the top hook, then hook the tail to the lower hook. Troll 0.5 - 1 MPH, the slower the better.
Kokanee will hit the same rig, but I have better luck running a snubber between the weight and the lure and using pink power bait maggots on the top hook and white shoe peg corn on the bottom hook. A blade string is also very productive. If you are not getting bites change up your flasher blade color or throw a pink hoochie above your books.
That is a good start, lol
Good luck
