For some reason I want to hit the surf for some perch. Any info helps. Places to stay? Beaches to try? Tips?

i'm no expert but i used to do my fair share when i lived out by the beach.  i like using a 2 hook setup with the weight on the bottom.  lots of good bait to use, clam necks, sand shrimp, prawns(my favorite).

try to find deep spots, going out at low tide is a good way to do this.  sand spits, deep depressions, anything like that.  i've caught them 10 feet in front of me when fishing this type of water.

i used to fish copalis beach up by ocean city mostly, but you'll find them all over.  always hear good things about long beach, but never tried it.

check the beach you plan on going to at low tide and look for irregularities, fish in them. I love sea perch. :tung:
