I'm looking to see if anyone has any experience with a b tag for montana whitetail doe
i want to take my family on a meat type hunt and the opportunity in montana is appealing, i was hoping to see if anyone has any information or recommendation on area to hunt
i can hunt all of region 3 it appears, and i was looking around dillon area, i am coming from portland oregon area so the south west montana area would be closest

I hunted the Dillon area a few years back and there's a lot of farm land so maybe you can get permission from a land owner or find one that has block management. There's a lotta whitetail in the area. Good luck.

Look into the Block Management program, and understand that almost every single land owner has the option of any way he see's fit. One may only allow 5 people on his land each day and it's first come first served and you can't be at his home until sunrise on the day of the hunt for permission. And the next landowner may have a stand at the edge of his property where you just sign in and go hunt and there is no limit of the number of hunters on a given day. So that can make the program a little difficult to figure out, but otherwise it is a good program as it has re-opened a lot of doors to general tag hunters/Btag hunters. Some places also only allow the hunting of does and no buck hunting. But if you follow the rules you can get on some great property and really fill a freezer with back straps and trim meat for making what have you type of items. Montana really has a good program with the block management and it can really help a lot of landowners manage the over population of does on their property. Good luck. I have always hunted region 4 when I have gone on hunts like you describe.

i was just looking at the block management programs and it seems it is a great opportunity
i am only doing the doe hunt/ meat hunt
i am really wanting to do this for my childrens sake, they are very interested in it and badly want to harvest a animal, elk or deer , the doe hunt is very affordable and should be a fun hunt it appears
great way to introduce the kids to this.
it appears only region 3 and 7 are available to me at this time on the website, 7 is much further east so 3 it is
