Is the area up around the radio tower on Saddle Mountain still accessible? Was there eons ago and couldn't remember the exact site. Actually read about it in an outdoor magazine way back in the early 90's. Jumped tons of birds on the way out after shooting hours and went after them the next day and got blanked. Just a curiosity question?

Saddle Mountain is open but there are lots of restrictions

I'm pretty sure those towers he's referring to are not on the monument

There are several towers up there now. But yes you can drive to all of them. I walk from the lower crab creek to the top for exercise. I only jumped a few Huns, no chuckers. I have seen a few chuckers along the road while working. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the tips gentlemen, do any of you happen to know of any other small mountains that just pop up out there on the east side in the Moses Lake, Royal City, Othello area? I'm just going to have to take a road trip and cruise that whole Moses Lake area and get this placed locked back into memory. Appreciate the insight and have a blast out chasing game birds this season!

The radio towers on Weitas Peak are outside of the monument. There is some USFWS ground on top where you would need to use steel shot. The majority of it is BLM land.
There are chukars. They can get pounded pretty hard because you can drive all the way up. I find better chukar hunting where you have to walk up from the vehicle.
