Title: Getting any Rain in the Blues!?
Post by: E-Town Hunter on October 07, 2015, 01:44:06 PM
Can anyone confirm or deny that we are getting any type of wet weather in the Blues right now? We need the wilderness opened back up pronto!!!

It is currently raining lightly in WW. Radar map indicates that hills are getting some as well.

Are you itching to have a camp fire at an abandoned dummy campsite ?

Having troubles sleeping at night yet? When I had the tag I had to start taking Tylenol pm about now. Lol. I can't imagine the added stress of the closure. I'd probably go to my doc and ask for an induced coma until October 25 or so. Lol

Yes, its getting a little nerve racking. Thought for sure it would be open by now. Been following the fire activity from the first few days when it was 500 acres.  Now over 80,000 and continues to burn. Hearing reports that wildlife activity is still stable and present in there despite the fire just adds to the frustration that we can't get in there. I really needed some time to get in and scout.

I'm right with ya buddy. Was planning on scouting this weekend. But that's a no go.

Still hoping but starting to think I might be spending extra time chasing whitetails rather than trying to fill my E. Wenaha elk tag. :'(

We got about 0.12" in town.  According to the weather service observations it looks like the mountains got about 0.20"

Rained pretty good up there on Wed and into the night but was still pretty dry under the trees. We were in Tucannon up on top and prior to the rain, fires were still burning and lots of smoke. Tuesday night in the dark we could see fire up on Baldy. My guess is it will take quite a bit more rain to get it opened up. Fingers crossed for you guys as there is plenty of untouched country down in there that the fire never got close to.

Thanks for the update.  2 weeks until the opener.  Forecast doesn't look all that promising.  Glad the weather forecasts aren't always correct.

Earlier this week there's was tons of smoke coming from down in butte creek looking from Godman area! The entire area was smokey! There was no way you could have camped down there! If it stays like that it won't open anytime soon in my opinion..

I've already prepared myself for the call from wdfw offering me my points back but will still be doing the rain dance in the meantime.

From the Grizzly Bear Complex Facebook page (posted on Oct 10th):

The fire did get some precipitation this last week though the weather quickly cleared and warmed up. Forest officials are evaluating the current and forecasted conditions on a daily basis. I can't speculate what could happen by the end of the month but we'll post any changes as soon as the decision is made. I wish I could tell you something more definative. Stay tuned!

I was watching the weather radar maps more than I'd like to admit this past Saturday.   From the maps, looked like the majority of the rain shot just to the north of E  wenaha.  Glad to hear some of it hit the fire area. :D

Weather report calls for a strong chance of some weather in the Dayton area this weekend. Looks like the last possible chance us rifle guys have of hope for reopening the wilderness. Please....Please.....just this once give us some luck! :'(
