Title: Hunting Gloves
Post by: gallion_t on October 12, 2015, 02:54:42 PM: I have been looking for some good hunting gloves for years and can't seem to find exactly what I am looking for. What I want is warm waterproof glove that the trigger finer is a thinner material so it can easily fit in the trigger guard when going to make a shot. the rest of the glove can be a bit bulkier. Does anyone have any idea who makes something like this?

Lol Brad. When I go duck hunting and am not crowded for space I sometimes have 4 pairs in my bag. Each in their own ziplock. The perfect glove hasn't been made yet.

:yeah: Ziplock bags and extra gloves. The best I've found so far is the fingerless with polar fleece backs and a neoprene palm, but they still get wet but stay warmer.

Post by: cdriver on October 12, 2015, 07:38:55 PM: Outdoor Research Iron Sight gloves with silk liner. Most truly waterproof gloves would be too bulky. OR makes several tactical gloves they claim are waterproof. Carry an extra pair, try different weight liners.

Not really interested in the mitten style or the ones with the removable finger as if a bird flushes right in front of me I wont be able to get my finger out in time for a shot.

I could swear I saw the gloves I am describing 4-5 years ago, but at the time I wasn't looking for them.

Post by: 300rum on October 13, 2015, 09:01:03 AM: Whomever comes up with a glove that is warm, dry, breathes, without seams, allows dexterity and holds up even after 5 minutes of heavy use, will make a fortune. You can have two of those attributes but not all of them.

I find it better to go without gloves for all but the worst of conditions.

I love the flip top mittens but most are not water proof, however Big R in Spokane use to sell black flip top mitten that were water proof. When I found them I bought 4 pairs, they were something like $9.95 each. They are my favorite gloves, put in a heat pack in the flip top mitten part and they are the bomb!

Post by: 300rum on October 14, 2015, 06:38:51 AM: That is what I do too. The flip top pair I have uses a Magnet to keep the mitten part back, way better and less noise then velcro.
