I bagged a whitetail up by davenport this weekend and kept the hide to tan. It is covered in small bugs that look just like ticks but some have wings? looked around on line and its deer keds (I think). Anyone notice a large amount of bugs on their deer this year?

The only time I remember seeing a lot of those "ticks with wings," was in Klickitat County. The deer I killed was covered with them, and ticks too. That was in 2008. I'm not sure I've ever seen them anywhere else.

heres one without wings. 6 legs though, not a tick :dunno:

Doesn't look like a tick to me

Saw a few near Ellensburg. Some on one deer and some flying in a pine Grove.

see them a lot in Walla Walla. when you're sweating in the brush, they seem attracted to you and really like to fly in your face
