Well, after many hours of hard hunting, I finally notched my tag this Saturday morning. It was a spike that I actually spotted opening morning but I passed on him because I was holding out for the big 3x3 that I had gotten on camera a few times. He presented me with a perfect broadside at 100 yards though and my .30-06 165gr hand loaded barnes tsx stopped him nearly in his tracks. He may not be wall mounting material but I can tell you that his tenderloins sure tasted amazing this morning with eggs. 1 out of 3 tags notched so far. Good luck to everyone else!

He's a pretty cool looking spike! As far as spikes go he does look like a monster to me! Few things tastier than a 1.5 year old spike deer IMO.
When you order filet or a premium steak at the finest restaurants you are usually getting "Prime" 18 month old steer. Pretty much the cow version of that spike deer. Doesn't get much better eating than that!
