Title: 13yr old daughters first Elk tag.. Help??
Post by: cavemann on October 29, 2015, 09:52:18 AM
Looking for a spot to go on the West side.  I'm looking for a decent walk in area we can take our time, glass and she can learn..  I'm not looking for the most animals, but a good experience not crazy with hunters.  This might be a unicorn request, but thought I would throw it out there.  We would leave out of Olympia or Puyallup all 3 nights.

It is her first time in the woods with her rifle, it is more about getting out than seeing a lot of animals.

I like your focus on what's important.  I'd recommend keeping that focus next year and spend that time with her scouting.

Agreed Gringo, we do what we can.  Single dad and 3 kids, I'm a weekend warrior at best these days with them all playing sports as well.  Keeping the expectations low but still getting out when we can.  We usually hunt the Lewis River unit, but can't get that much time away this year.
