Title: Grandpa's 67 Coastal Blacktail
Post by: Tree Farmer on October 31, 2015, 05:41:38 PM: I have killed a few dozen Blacktail in my days, but the typical 4x4 has illuded me. My grandfather passed about 20 years ago. I have a nice Roosevelt, Mule Deer, and White Tail racks of his hanging in my shop along with my trophies. A few weeks ago I grabbed this Blacktail rack of his out of his old barn. This buck was killed in Menlo, WA. in 1967. It still had the $2.00 fabric tag attached. I cleaned it up and laminated it. I use his pre 64 Winchester in 300 Win. Mag. Between the two of us I figure it's killed about 80 animals. I look forward to passing this rifle and it's legacy onto another some day.
