I am posting this on behalf of my hunting buddy. Unfortunately I was unable to get out and hunt opening weekend, but he and his party took care of business! His dad brought down this 4 x 5 bull opening morning. After battling wind, rain and aggravating novice hunters, they managed to break them apart and get a clean shot on this solid Rosey! He is still out there fighting to bag one for himself! Wishing him luck, and jealous that I'm at a desk protected, and he is running free!

Where at? We were in 672 and saw lots of sign, maybe heard 12-15 shots over two days.

Congrats to the hunter! Great fronts

All I can say on behalf of him, is Coastal Unit. Until he is finished and ready to let me post more, that's all I can really say at this point. He did mention that there was at least two more legal bulls running around, one of which is a brilliant 5 point that has been devastating local alder patches. He has been working the "4am - 6pm" shift. I hope he manages to take one down. He also said the day before the season, his entire party was tromping back to the trucks from scouting and happened to round a corner and fall witness to what he said was the biggest Blacktail buck, he, his father, his brother, and two other older generation hunters had ever seen in their lives. I told him he has to get a picture up for Hunt WA members to judge... I'll keep everyone posted!

An update for you guys. My buddy has still been unable to bag a legal bull, however his nephew was able to notch his tag this morning! Congrats to him. Hoping my late muzzleloader tag will go the distance this season! With the weather being so crazy these last couple weeks, I know it has really made finding an elk, difficult for some.
