I have been looking forward to opening day for months! My hunting buddy and myself were all prepared and planned to set up a wall tent for camp for the first time this year. My hunting partner had to bail on me for opening day last minute due to a family situation. Almost didn't go out opening day cause our plan was to go high and deep and the thought of going alone didn't get me real exicted. It is only my 3rd year elk hunting and I was fortunate enough to get a bull last year and know the tough work it is to pack it out. Decided to give it a shot and go out alone opening day. After and almost 2 hour hike in the dar I Was fortunate enough to find myself in the middle of elk 20 minutes into opening morning and was able to get a bull for a second year in a row. So glad I made the choice to go out! Long, tough, enjoyable pack out alone. Glad to have a GoPro with me to get some pics. Best of luck to everyone else who still has a tag to fill.
