Title: Satsop GMU access
Post by: pope on November 12, 2015, 07:34:46 AM
Any pointers for no-fee timber access? Shelton/Matlock areas? Couple of suggestions for gates would be as specific as I need, or at least a web resource for finding Green Diamond maps. We can walk, ride bikes or drive rough roads. Not looking to invade anybody's space, probably just get over there for a day of scouting and one day of hunting. I'm committed to hunting near my home which is a long way from Shelton, but I have a friend who would like to try something new to us.

Check out the Green Diamond site, they have the info.  I was looking myself.  there is a map of the "permit access" land.  Any other Green Diamond property is open, but most of it is "red dot" gates.  Follow the signs for access and you are fine.

Thanks! Last night I looked at the Rec Access map and the fee area seems to cover a substantial part of that GMU. The Green Diamond site mentions opening some red-dot gates during hunting season. Is the land west of the Matlock-Brady road Green Diamond? I can't seem to find an overview of the land they own/manage.
