Starts out with an uninvited guest meeting me at parking area he seems ready to hunt and determined to go with us so OK
We had to cross a grass field containing a herd of 40 or so elk in the pre-dawn gloom and driving rain the dog (and new friend) chase the elk for awhile then the elk chase the dogs for awhile finally the elk run into the woods -
There is supposed to be a blind in the trees somewhere, but I never found it, maybe its covered with water. The woods are full of elk and they are screaming back and forth
Nothing flying, nothing calling, except elk no blind so we leave.
Down the road a couple hundred yards theres a field full of mallards, and bulls they are all very happy to stay and I dont have permission to hunt that field.
Lots of water about and lots of swans
No shots fired but a good day

So, what'd you do with the dog?

Nothing - he went home on his own -

He's cute. Dogs are awesome. It sounds like you had a good morning without having to clean a stinky duck :)
