Title: Squeaky boot fix
Post by: high country on November 18, 2015, 09:03:40 AM
I have a love for meindl  boots. They fit me well and hold up well. I have a few newer pairs that squeak. I finally stumbled on the solution and thought that I would share.

The digi flex design is not unique to meindl, so it may apply to others as well, I traced the squeak to the odd eyelets that are not rigidly attached to the boot. On the meindl there is a layer of hypalon type material between the inner and outer leather. The squeak originates between the outer layer and the hypalon. I use a knife to make a small cut in the middle of the hypalon and force a small amount of boot grease between the hypalon and the leather.....problem solved. It took about 3 minutes of working the grease in to end the desire to throw my new expensive boots off a bridge.
