Title: Best Gloves for hunting
Post by: frazierw on December 02, 2015, 10:39:12 AM: I have terribly cold hands always, what gloves do you like best while hunting to keep your hands warm?

Post by: bearhunter99 on December 02, 2015, 12:11:54 PM: My brother got me a pair of Kuiu gloves for Christmas last year and I have to say I'm impressed. I don't know that I would pay that much for gloves if they weren't a gift but I would say that they are definitely worth the money if you have the extra money for them.

Post by: trophyhunt on December 02, 2015, 12:13:40 PM: I have the kuiu gloves with the liner, I like them when it's dry out. But, the one's I have are NOT waterproof or resistant at all. They suck when it's nasty out.

I am always trying to find a glove thin enough to shoot with but sturdy too. I use a thin fake leather glove, add silk liner. Keeps me warm down to about 30. Not waterproof, bring a separate pair for nasty conditions.

I was out hunting last weekend, it was about 15-20 degrees, and those gloves worked great! There is a zipper to put hand warmers in :tup:

Post by: Fl0und3rz on December 02, 2015, 12:33:23 PM: I'll third or fourth the OR gloves. I think mine are the windstopper, gripper, fleece, but they are several years old. Although, lately, I have been using regular leather work gloves over milsurp olive drab wool glove liners.

Haven't tried their gloves yet though. We do a gift exchange with my family and my brother didn't draw me though so I'll probably end up with something non hunting related :bash: :bash:

These are my favorite of all time. On my second set, first ripped when I wrecked on my bigwheel, otherwise I would needed to replace them. I use them all season, keeps me warm even when they are wet.

little on pricey side but warm is well worth it. good luck

Post by: Bofire on December 03, 2015, 04:08:30 PM: nobody seems to agree but I like White Ox work gloves, I never wear them while shooting, just to get to where I can shoot. Three pairs weigh nothing, as they get wet change them. they are cheap, wash up good in the washer. Hell hundreds of loggers can't be wrong!!

Post by: Alchase on December 05, 2015, 08:18:34 PM: I used mechanics gloves for years, but they just never held up to hard hunting. I would bring and go through multiple pairs. I an say I have not worn out a set of cut resistant or nomex flight gloves.

I don't think I paid more than 10.00 for a pair.

I have soft ones, thin ones ,wool ones but all cheap.

I do t like gloves which have a real soft free floating inner lining because when they get damp the liner sticks to your hands and hard to get back on.

Some of the best gloves I like I found in the garden shop of Fred Meyers.

The problem is your body! You don't pump enough blood to your hands. Short of fixing that problem, add heat to your fingertips through some type of hand warmer. I use a box of Costco hand warmers per year. Keep them in my pack, even in September.

Try the foot warmers with adhesive. Stick them to your t-shirt near the kidneys. If your core is warm your hands/feet will be also. When you get cold, your body reduces blood flow to the extremities to protect/keep your organs warm.

Cant beat this set up IMHO

I use this set up all rifle season here in MT once it gets cold.

Wold hunt all winter in temps as low as -30

Hands are warm as can be,

Quick and easy to to shoot also

I have had some nice gloves, but can't shoot with them on my fingers :twocents: :twocents:
