Title: Bullpac Rifle Bracket
Post by: Rainier10 on December 07, 2015, 09:35:29 AM: Well the season is over and the old Bullpac got quite the workout. Between September and December it hauled out three deer and six elk. This weekend I used it on an elk during the 3911 damage hunt that you are allowed to use a rifle for. I bought the Bullpac rifle bracket attachment for the pack and it worked really well on this pack out.

Can't say enough good things about this pack or the company service. I am sure that they will be at the sportsman's show this year check them out and get one of these, they make the pack out way more comfortable.

Side note, I am wearing my Orange Aglow vest and safety panel in the photo. Another site sponsor with a great product and customer service.

The only draw back to it is with just the pack, small bag for my gear and the rifle the load is off center and wants to keep slipping to the right. If you take the rifle off I can't sling the rifle very well. I have only used it twice with the rifle so maybe if I play around with it a little more I can figure something out. I was going to ask Sam about it at the sportsman's show and see what his thoughts were. With the pack loaded with meat and the rifle strapped on there are no issues, pack feels centered and comfortable.

Normally I bow hunt and I am normally a long ways from the road so I just go in with the pack on and I am ready to pack meat out once I have something down. Shooting the bow with the pack on feels just a little different so the last month before archery season all of my practice shooting is with the pack on in my hunting gear.

When the pack is empty the rifle is a little off balance. If we know we're going to be using the rifle mount without a big load, we'll put the heavy stuff in our daypack like water and food on the opposite side... it doesn't take much to balance it out, but it does ride better with some weight on the off side. And like you said, once you have a load of meat and/or gear it all evens out.

Post by: Rainier10 on January 25, 2017, 10:19:32 PM: We had another awesome season. I posted tons of success photos but did a terrible job getting picks with our packs on. I think all in total I packed out five elk with my pack and three deer.

So we swung by the @BullPacs booth tonight and got the 14 year old daughter her own pack. Mom has one too so that really helps. Hers a pic of big sister with 80# little sister on the pack.
