Title: Easton fullbore pack???
Post by: Fshnpole on December 10, 2015, 02:29:13 PM
Been looking at this pack for a while and keep seeing it on camofire. Its the fullbore 5600. Did a search of the forum and found nothing on it and could only find a few reviews online, all of wich seem to be good.  Just looking for a pack to do some short backcountry hunts next year and for $100 seems like a deal.  Would like any info from people that have experience with it.

Thanks in advance

It's on camofire again today and now I'm interested as well. Anybody?

Camofire is good to work with. If the pack isn't what you thought it would be they should take it back no problem. For $100 it would be worth the purchase even if you do return it. Might also ask this question over on Rokslide.

I actually went ahead and bought it a while back, hadnt seen that anyone replied.  I have not done anything other than check it out and put a water reservoir in it, but I think im gonna like the pack.  I like the idea of having the stuff sack and being able to take it out and it should be a good game hauler.  For $100 I think its a great buy planning on using it on some backpacking trips this summer.

I was hoping to take a look at this at the show.  Unfortunately the only time I got over there I got called back to the booth.  I'm hoping they have it at the next show so I can get a good look.  Waist belt has me very interested.  I'm so tired of good packs with crap belts.  Second most important part of a pack and no one seems to pay it much attention anymore.  Pay $400+ on a pack and get a $9.99 belt. :bash:  Looks like they have the strapping right in the pictures.  Price has me a little concerned as you usually get what you pay for in packs.  Hoping this will be an exception to that rule.  We'll see!!  Will definitely let you know my impression if I get to spend some time with it!

Although, you know what will happen, don't you?  The day after I buy one they will release the Fred Eichler signature pack and it will be awesome! :chuckle:

I totally hear you on the belt issue.
To add to that, some packs include zip pockets on the belt, which in theory, are an awesome idea but some are seriously lacking in functionality.
I have been watching this pack on CF and am interested in a review.

Yes I did get mine but haven't gotten much use out of it yet. Mostly just packing around lunch, water and my spotter for a day while wolf/shed hunting. All of the things I've typically hauled around in my 2500ci blacks creek seem to fit better and more comfortably in just the day pack. I'm excited to get out during spring bear and really give this pack a run for its money, maybe do a 3 day pack in, and hopefully haul some meat.

I got mine in the mail from camofire today. Have to say, its much taller than I had expected from the videos for some reason, but thats not a bad thing. Just bigger than I would like if I am using it for a day pack. Hope to take it hiking this weekend and then I'll post an updated impression

I will be interested in reading that!  I did not get a chance to see it this past week at the Reno show.  Still figure I will get one, but will look forward to your thoughts before I do.

Nice, hope you guys like it.  I still have not used mine just sitting in my hunting room.  Too big to take on my day fishing trips but hope to get it out this summer for some backpacking fishing trips.

So I thought I'd update after my spring bear hunt, I will say this pack handled the weight of a deboned bear and head and hide no problem, I think the pack can handle more weight than I can. Still haven't packed it full of backcountry gear yet as it turned into a glorified day trip but I may be going on a backpack elk scouting/bear hunting trip here in about 2 weeks. Anyway I figure I probably had the pack loaded down with 90+ lbs easily yesterday and while it was miserable at the time I hardly feel a thing today and the pack held up great.

I recently got the Fullbore Pack off a deal on amazon for $80. Unfortunately, it is the non-camo version and so it is the nylon style (may be a little louder in the field....but for the deal, couldn't pass it up). So far haven't put it through too much but used it for training and weighted it down with 75lbs and hiked for about 5 miles and felt comfortable and held up with out any sign of weakening. Cant wait to put it to the real test on a decent back country hunt.

Glad to hear it held up to the bear hunt!
