I'm going u buy a new .22 pistol soon, I was going to purchase a sr22 but today I looked at a s&w m&p compact and also a walther. Any opinions on which of those three is best
-
Where do you plan on buying the ammo? I can't find any (except online).
-
my walther never lets me down and I really mistreat it, can't say it's better than the other's mentioned but it fires all 22 ammo and I cant remember the last time I cleaned it
-
Sr 22 is almost an exact copy of the Walter p22 difference is the ruger has a decocker and the magazine release on the trigger guard of the Walter.

I have 20,000 rounds. And I could've bought 100 more yesterday
-
My choice would be the Walter (Walther). And yes .22 is available but in limited supplies.
-
The Ruger SR22 and the Walther P22 are both fine 22 caliber pistols, you can't go wrong with either of them. A good used Ruger Mark2 Target Model is another fine shooting gun. I prsonally like the Mark2 over the newer Mark3 models.
The Cabelas in Marysville (Tulalip) has been having 22 ammo almost every trip I go there. I have more then enough for the ammount I shoot so I quit buying it.
If I were to buy another 22 semi and be it a new pistol, I'd go with the Walther, but the SR22 is just as good.

I have a mkII target. I'm looking for something lighter

Tac solution upper!

This would make it lighter for sure.

I have the SR22. Great gun. Amo isn't hard to find either. Usually buy 555 blocks, 500 bricks, 300, etc. weekly and it eats anything fed to it. Was looking at the new Ruger 22 Match. Nice gun, with rails.
-
what about the Smith and Wesson M-22?
-
If you want an enjoyable 22 buy a 22 that isn't a copy of a bigger gun. All of the sub sized 22s I've shot were poor guns.
A detected 22 needs to have good sights, a good trigger and must be very accurate. To be that accurate it should have a fixed barrel.
The only 22s made right now that fall into that category are the Ruger MKlll line and the Browning Buckmark.
I wouldn't waste your money on the others.
-
Nailed it.
-
Ruger 22/45 lite, this is my moms that she uses in speed steel shoots.
-
I already have a mkII target and a single-six. They're both super accurate. I just want a new .22 it will likely be sold in a year or two to finance what ever has caught my eye at the time.
-
Love my sr22. 100 percent reliable, even with cheap thunderbolts.
-
Browning Buckmark hands down!
-
Just dont buy a sig sauer mosquito. It will only eat cci minimags and I havent been able to find them in a while
-
Another vote for the Buckmark, never had a problem with mine.
-
The ruger 22/45 is an awesome gun 5 1/2bull barrel hits the target at 70 yards no problem I love it that's a 6" target

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the three so I'd buy the one I could get the cheapest or if you have a preference to the way one looks versus another, that'd be the one to get.
-
I'm very fond of my S&W Model 41. But they're a little expensive.
-
:yeah: My model 41 is a very accurate pistol.
-
I'm a bit of a fan of 22 pistols.
for the money it is hard to beat a buckmark. If you happen to find a Sig Trailside BUY IT! One of my all time favorite 22 pistols.
