These photos were taken in my in-law's front yard (near Fresno). I might need to try deer hunting in CA for the first time this next year!

So that's a California mule deer? :dunno:
They have some strange species down there, never heard of that deer rare, or absent one. :chuckle:
-
Almost looks like a life size mount

When I was stationed in San Diego they called the ones down their Pacific Hybrids

The 20 some odd years in spend down there. The black tail are small with huge racks. Mule deer on the east side of the Sierra's. If the game laws are the same. Any good deer hunting is all draw only. If you a non-resident going to be expensive.

This must be the rare or absent type if Fresno has not moved

They live north of the city by 30 minutes, but according to that map they are right on the border of the rare or absent deer. They have never had deer on their property until a year ago. Perhaps the droughts are moving them around.

That quality of deer are rare or absent where I hunt too!
