My son and I have been hitting the salt in our kayaks for some cutthroat fishing  We have been having some great action fishing shallow trolling a wiggle hoochie.

My son and a couple of his buddies were fishing in Olalla this morning. He said fishing was slow and cold  :chuckle:

They are a blast on a fly rod! You know the regs. Right????......

Only hatchery searun cuts.  Except are state doesn't do that so do the math.
Gotta love WDFW.

Have fun! Stay outta trouble!

The state does do them, on the Cowlitz River lol, so not very many of them are out there.  Not sure if any other river has a hatchery for them though.  Nice fish though, I still need to try going out in the salt and targeting them one of these days.

One more from this weekend

The kayaks make it easy to access the shallow areas where the cuts live. Find the oyster beds and points and you will find the cuts. Fish shallow most of the time 6 foot of water or less. Again we use wiggle hoochies on quick troll. They hit very hard and you know when you have one on.

Yes we know they regs and release all cuts. We are using barbless hooks and fish friendly nets.
