I have a pair of Trango Treks. I like them a lot. Been a pain in the butt to get one side broken in.
I think LaSportiva is a lot like the Twix commercials where you have a right Twix plant and a left Twix plant. Whomever makes the left boots is a flippin' genius! Those that are making the right boots...not so much! :chuckle:
I absolutely love my LaSportiva boots, but I have had to work on the toe box on every right boot. Not a hard thing to do, but can be annoying after dropping that much cash. I use golf balls and a hot water bottle with a damp cloth around it. Takes about two days and it's almost as good as the left one.
I think there are Trekking boots and back packer boots that are just as good. But get into a good stiff mountaineering boot and I haven't found anything yet that I like as much.

Maybe RadSav can elaborate on how he fixed his pair.
I get the inside a little damp, wedge one or two golf balls into the toe. Then lay a damp towel over the outside with a hot water bottle on top of that. I replace the hot water bottle every hour or when I remember to.
I had a similar toe issue with my first pair of Meindl. I took those to the Mall Cobbler. He did first class work! :tup: I haven't been to a Mall in about 12 years. Not sure if they even have a cobbler at malls anymore :dunno:

My problem is with the left boot. The right boot is great. I do think these boots made me love 10" high boots more though.
Just figured I'd update and say it seems my boots are breaking in nicely. Getting more and more comfortable.

Both good choices!
If you make a trip to Vancoucer BC you are likely to get a better choice of Meindle to choose from as Cabela's has the US monopoly, but limits their offering. Canada is free from the Cabela's monopoly.
Meindle were very good boots for me. Tough as nails in some nasty goat country. Though I have always thought top end Lowa had an edge on hardware. If the Lowa heal fit my foot better I'd likely be well stocked in them (I have a narrow heal). Not many easy choices in high quality footwear. I think it is a harder decision than choosing a new bow!
