Title: New muzzy suggestions?!
Post by: Leanne on January 11, 2016, 08:47:48 PM
I am in the market for a new smoke pole.

I have shot for 15 years my old CVA hunter bolt, .54 cal.....but that poor gun has had enough of me! (I have hunted it every year since I was 12 and while in the last 6 years I handled her with care, the first 6 years....well lets just say I wear most everything I own out)

So I need suggestions, I have a short pull length, I am a small framed gal, so I usually shoot youth weapons, at least I do for my bow and shotgun, so that is one requirement, a gun that can be shot by a smaller person.

I also have noticed that .54 cal seems to be a thing of the past, but .50 and .52 cal are common, any suggestions or pointers are great for me, like I said I have shot the same gun for 15 years.  I use it for deer and elk, but not to say that bear might not be on the game plan someday.

Any suggestions or review are greatly appreciated!!

Thanks everyone!

I think the knight wolverine is a youth, or for smaller framed people.

Knight ultralight. That's my next pick up, and if I remember right last time I held it it felt like it had a shorter pull than my traditions Vortek so it would probably fit you well. Check one out before buying anything else I wish I would have!

The Knight Wolverine is a great choice in 50 cal. Very accurate and dependable and like sled said , its marketed for a youth. I picked one up at a pawn shop 4 years ago for 115.00.

Thompson Center Impact. The box comes with a removable piece to shorten the stock. The fiber sights are excellent and the ML is balanced when drawing it up to your shoulder.

2nd choice would be the 6lb CVA Wolf. Nice compact model there and both of these guns are only around $225 tops. You may find a sale on either one this late winter for only $199.

I believe the latest iteration of the Wolverine is the Littlehorn.  Shorter LOP, shorter barrel, the rest is .50 Bighorn.  Kills critters dead!

I would recommend the Knight LittleHorn, which has the shorter length of pull that you are looking for, as well as a Northwest legal option and great accuracy.
