That looks like more than 3 bulls to 100 cows that I have seen in some reports.

A lot of cows up front, Bulls in pockets in the back.  Never thought to hazard a number though I'm sure you are right in regards to that.  However I saw 500 or so cows in the canyon with no Bulls.....so.....?

That makes more sense.  The herd that is normally below me around Reecer creek is closer to the 3:100 ratio.  I haven't seen them this year though, I think they must be hanging out closer to the Vantage wind farms or something.

Ive been driving through Vantage a few times this last month and it has been covered in Elk. Saw one bull feeding between the Interstate, but the cows were up by the windmills.

Stopped by the Watt on Thursday during feeding time.  Never seen so many huge racks.

Continued on I-90 and at the top of Vantage hill was a sign saying 60+ elk have been killed in the next ten miles.

It's pretty early in the day, so I'd guess about then too.  Again, hard to really see much.
Bundle em up, that wind is brisk in the face.
