Title: Which rings/bases
Post by: Antlershed on January 26, 2009, 05:47:56 PM: I mounted my Zeiss on my RUM with Leupold Dual Dovetails, but I have recently seen a lot of talk about other rings/bases. I mainly just want to be sure I'm set up right the first time. Will the Leupold rings/bases be ok, or should I look into a more stout option?

Post by: HawkenBob on January 28, 2009, 02:56:05 PM: 2 of my friends say the weaver style rail is best for the RUM. The standard style's just dont hold up. These guys shoot RUM's religiously. And one is a custom rifle builder out of MT. Take it for what its worth though. :dunno:

Be interesting to see what the others say.

Post by: lazydrifter on January 29, 2009, 09:33:39 AM: For many years the Leupold Dual Dovetail were the standard for heavy recoil rifles. All I've ever used were Leupold rings and bases. And loctite the screws. You should be fine.
