We took off at 3:30 am on sunday morning and headed east over white pass in hopes of finding some coyotes!! On our way to the first spot we had one cross the road infront of us and needless to say we were already in high hopes of what lay ahead of us. Our first set up we got in to the spot and spooked a yote right out from under us and he was haulin' across the hill at about 400 yards and managed to get over the backside before we could get a shot off... So we called with no luck, and moved on to our next spot. John did 3 howls and we were being run over with dogs! We had 4 dogs trottin in to about 80 yards and we got settled and did the ol' 1.. 2.. 3.. and BOOM! Needless to say we both missed and they scattered and John threw some more lead with no luck! At this point we had seen 6 yotes in about an hour and a half! Things were looking up. We called for the rest of the day and no luck until we were headed out and this dumb one was standing in the sage 170 yards from the truck and we piled out and it stood there looking at us.. I put a shell in the chamber, threw off the safey and boom! Dead dog! (no we did not shoot off of the truck!) That was a good end to the day as we had seen 7 yotes and educated 5 of them on what humans were! :chuckle: Thanks for taking me John!

Looks like a sweet day. ;) Good work, thanks for posting.
-
nice dawg, is that a remy bdl in the 243 variety
-
It's a Remington 700 CDL in a 243 win with a Leupold VX-L on it. Sweet shootin gun! I hand load my own rounds with a 55 gr Nosler ballistic tip and 52 gr of H414 and they are a touch over 4100 fps!! It's a killer coyote gun!
And what you can't see if the 6" hole infront of it's shoulder where all the blood is... It looks like I shot it with a 300 win mag!!
-
that is what I thought, nice killer ya got their. That will be one of my next investments.
-
Nice looking dog and don't worry about educating them I have done my share of it lately :bash:

I remember a good looking dude talking to you when you still worked at Sportsman's a couple years back... he was telling you to shoot 55s and H-414... oh, wait... that was ME! Nice work... we should still go shoot some on video with the bow though.
-
Haha I do have to give you some credit for that one Josh! It's a killer load and is deadly accurate! If the guy behind the gun was as accurate then it would be even better. And I agree, getting some on film with a bow would be sweet!
-
Super sweet load... I love how fast those bullets get to the target... it just has to be seen to be believed.
My brother has been shooting the 70 grainers lately... at 3650 they do a serious number on dogs too... there's just no way to beat that 4100fps you can get out of the 55 grainers though.
