T. Walker Peterson
Organizer of Long Range Operators Challenge(LROC) supporting The Army Sniper Association
The LROC is planned, directed and conducted by former Army and Marine Corps Snipers. Our previous experience as match directors includes the International Sniper Competition (History Channel “Top Sniper”) 2006, 2007 and Camp Patriot Challenge 2010 through 2013. We’ve done our absolute best to create the LROC match stages based on real world Sniper missions that actually occurred.Former Marine and Army Snipers will perform duties as Range Officers in the LROC. This is a true Sniper match! Competitors may compete with any weapon .50 cal and below; you shoot it, you carry it! Competitors include Army, Marine Corps, SOCOM, and other units.

I think they may have had a bird in the first one. I was not there for that one so I really don't know. In the past another match (The Findlay Cup) may have had a bird...Jim will know for sure heh heh.
Last years LROC it was all on foot. Most likely the same for this year. Terrol has a tendency to make it "stressfull"
Yes, it is a whole lot of fun.

well, three days of fun!!! Ended up placing 14th of 25 teams. Closest Army Sniper team came in at 16th. The top score was close to 3x ours. We had significant improvement over last year, but we still have work to do.

The Army guys sure get *censored* for equipment. One of the SSgt's from the shoot last year estimated his 7.62 rifle had 30k rounds down the barrel. Seeing as how that is a LOT of rounds, I don't know if it was true, but those rifles weren't all that accurate!

Yes, Last year they all had SR25's that were burned up. We got our butts handed to us last year.
This year Army teams had much better equipment. Most were running suppressed M2010s.
Special T, I met him, one cool cat!!He was teamed with the Leupold Rep.

I know him through our mutual night vision friend who may have been there.
