Title: West siders
Post by: jtrammell on February 13, 2016, 09:19:29 PM
I'm over here on the west side and I hunt JBLM for yotes. I KNOW they are all over base and in the training areas I am hunting in. I see their scat all over the place when I walk around the woods. I go out alomst every weekend and I have only managed to call one in. I have heard the west side is a lot tougher than the east side. I was wondering if anyone is willing to help a brother our with some tips and tricks. For calling I'm using a FoxPro Inferno.Today I started with some female challenge calls, went to woodpecker and then switched to field mouse. I was there for about an hour with no action.

Set it out and don't move a muscle.  Get yourself in the thick with a view of 20 yds on all sides of the caller.  I seem to do better on the wet side the I do on the east side.  What weapon are you using there?  I thought the way the regs were for jblm it was basically impossible to hunt yotes this time of year?

If the training are is open for rifle, then that's what we use. Regs arent too bad.
