Anyone shooting the 190 accubond out of a 30-06? I picked up a tikka t3 hunter in 30-06 for $300. I have not loaded for a 30-06 in a long time. I have lots of reloader 19 and imr 4350 so hopefully I can build a good load with powder I have on hand.

I just picked some up to load in the 300 RUM. Hoping to start shooting in the next 30 or so days.

I bought some for my .300 WM and blrman is working up a load for mw right now. He had a review on them from last season somewhere on the forum.

be patient if you are set on that bullet, they can be frustrating to get a load figured out. I haven't loaded any for the 30-06 but have for 300wsm and the 210's for 300rum and both cases were difficult to get dialed in.

Were they picky on seating depth?

not so much seating depths as much as powder, couldn't shoot them as fast as I wanted either. finally got them shooting at about .5. gave up on them in the rum, but that is mostly because the bergers are so accurate and I can get the 230's at the same fps with lots more energy. had the best luck seating to Sammy on both

Hey thanks for the info. Now you have me thinking maybe I'll just try the good ol 165gr SST

I think you would have a hard time stabilizing them in the 06'. I ran them extensively in my 300wsm and took 9 animals with them last season. Mine wanted to be long. I believe I was 10 thou off the lands. Great bullet but probably some better options in the 06'

Think I might try them in my Encore but I'm curious(and still learning all this)...the Encores have a whole lot of freebore. I used a Hornady overall length gauge and found that the bullet(180 grain partition) only fits inside the case maybe 1/8". Not a big deal. Just gotta figure out how long it will like them in this scenario.

Reloading for a new Browning A-Bolt3 300 Win Mag, and I can't get COAL long enough (~3.500") to even be close to the lands. That is one long-throated rifle.

Fwiw nosler uses computer generated BC's. They are grossly over estimated For the 190gr LR AB the avg. bc is .292 G7 or .300 over 3000fps, .296 for 3000-2500fps, .289 for 2500- 2000, .287 for 2000-1500fps and .290 below 1500

G1 on the packaging says .640. The number I've heard from multiple sources online and otherwise says .570 Still very high but hopefully nobody is living and dying by the factory numbers. If they are, I guess they'll be pulling bullets :chuckle:

you are correct but for a boat tail bullet your supposed to use a g7 bc. Using g1 will set your ballistic calculater to flat base drag function. It will get you close on drop out to 500 or 6 but not close enough for windage ime. Use G7 for boat tails and you will notice the difference on target.

Is that because you run out of magazine length? If so, remove your mag and you can carefully file your mag with a round chainsaw file or Dremel on each side where your bullet tips go as they stack. I have done it on several rifles and you can then seat them as long as you'd like to then.

Blrman what has been the best powder for the 190 class bullets in your 300wsm? Just going to work up a load for my uncle for his wsm and have not had much luck. Have been angle feeding in load development to get out near the lands using 7828ssc or 4831sc. Any other powders I should get my hands on to try with these?he wants to shoot a bonded bullet and the gameking a shoot pretty good out to only about 300 then don't seem to hold the performance as well as a Berger vld but thought the accubond long range might be a compromise for him over the vld.

Honestly I probably can't be much help here. I have worked tirelessly to streamline all my rifles and loads to imr4350. It's not flashy but it is reliable, and I can find it, which is the important part. Now I can just stock pile one powder and be good to go.

Thanks for the reply I understand that process makes life easier doing it that way!

I am using 7828ssc with the LRAB 190 out of my wm and have had good results..
