Well Iv had a few problem animals on the home farm here and had a few of my dads prize winning chickens get killed and set up some game cameras and come to find out the ol ringtail bandits are back  yesterday I sharpened up the machete and hacked a trail in to there old den that I ran them out of two years ago and fresh sign everywhere so the den is active. In the last two days I have seen four coons now that I have been watching for them and caught two in a tree above the chicken coop yesterday. Got them "evicted" from my tree. Well now I sit here and got them skinned out but no stretchers! :bash: first year trapping I was focused on water critters and now IV got these two. Can I freeze the furs in bags untill I get some stretchers? Don't know if it will damage the hide at all. Also so I know there are at least two others in the area what's the best way to go about getting them into a cage? There are trails that I can set up my double door walk thru as a Blind set but I also have two single door traps one havahart and one advantek (yes I know cheap garbage traps) but since I have them how should I go about using them to catch these little problem critters? (Side note, sure wish we could use dog proofs in our state!)

Yes, you can freeze the skins for awhile. roll them up tight fur side out and put in a plastic bag. Should be good for 6-8 months. Do not flesh until you're ready to stretch them.

Awesome thank you!

want to hold them longer? Roll up, fur side out, freeze, pull out dip in water, back in plastic bag and refreeze. The layer of ice staves off freezer burn. Another way is vacuum bags.
Better raccoon trappers then me on here but set those cage traps near their trail, cover floor and put something against the back and sides to keep them from working the wrong end of trap but nothing on top of trap.
Bait with a smorgasbord of goodies if you can. Cats around stick to peanut butter and sweet smelling lures with marshmallows for eye appeal.

And when I get my boards just thaw them flesh and stretch and all will be good?
Some cats around but they are wild and mean as hell so I wouldn't mind getting rid of them either!

yep!
