Title: Cull Chickens
Post by: dayn on March 06, 2016, 07:19:46 PM
Guys, I know it is late in the season, but,  I'm currently working at a chicken farm, 4,  500 foot barns, My 1st duty of the day is to pick dead chickens, and dispatch those that are not gonna make it to foster farms , My question? anybody interested in chickens for bait for this year or possibly for next year(freeze them, or make bait) Let me know if there is interest...Note: these are not to be consumed by humans, I generally pull out 20 to 40 chickens a day, sometimes more, sometimes less....Seems a waste to take them back into the field to rot

I would take as many wings as you could get  ( 80-100 ) if you would be willing to do that?

The 4 barns start out at about 25000 chickens (chicks) each, there is an expected dead loss of about 20% give or take, the barn owner hopes its closer to 10 or 12%

Jake, more than likely, You would have to take the whole chicken carcass, if I know My boss, He gets growly and grumpy, I would too if I had to babysit that many chickens and bow down to Foster farms.....I would never go into the bizz myself
