I am working on a non profit start up that involves veterans and the outdoors. If anyone can point me in the direction of a lawyer that can help me with the articsls of incorporation bylaws, board of directors, 501c3 and state filing stays info I would be for ever in your debt

Have you thought about doing it yourself with legalzoom.com?

Looked into the same thing, not only for our fallen heroes 5k but for the disabled veterans hunt I'm putting on this year and have come to the conclusion it's easier to just work with other non profits.

Fallen Outdoors. Great non profit run by veterans for veterans for hunting and fishing. They could also point you in right direction to.

You don't necessarily need a lawyer. I see you're in Olympia, contact the Washington SoS either in person or via phone or email. Once they know it is for veterans, they'll most likely walk you thru the process. (I was involved with something similar in NC.)
As for running the charity, MAKE SURE your books are always in order. If there is one thing this country holds sacred, it's veterans being scammed (or at least accusations thereof.)
