Black ash Burl stabilized by me. Very very expensive. Turns into a killer call for bears. Later working on day old fawn sounds this week. Really like the fawn sounds was great last year. Rick

Beautiful call. How does calling work in the spring? Any special techniques you can share?
-
Oops I'd better look at your vids
-
Fawn and Raspy distress works great. This year I will be walking some grassy roads. When I can see well enough I will do fawn distress. Rick
-
Good videos and beautiful call (as always) Rick!
-
Thanks for the great calls Rick! They sound amazing, incredibly easy to blow, and look awesome! Cant wait to try them out on spring bear this year!

Those are beautiful. I just got a fawn distress from him made out of birdseye maple that's pretty great too!
-
My 2 cents, calling is very effective for bears anytime of the year, but particularly effective in the spring during calving and fawning season.
-
Thanks guys. Cant wait a couple weeks I will start hunting first of may. Fawn time. Rick
-
How do you keep your reeds from sticking? Whenever I call after 20 minutes or so my call gets gummed up
-
I tune them for bear calling to get them raspy. Years ago I also learned from slydog Richard Gipson about flipping up the Reed to don't freeze up as much also. Have great luck with my closed reeds. Rick

Having fun here calling. One more day here in copalis. Heading back out now for a few hours. Fawn, distress and bear cub. Rick
-
