Lot of money.  It's a buyers market for that old stuff, which is certainly in need of repair and maintenance.

are those blocks something to keep the rod from wearing on the edge of the boat?

Those are rail chocks.  You use them as a fulcrum when your cranking up a halibut from 500+ feet.

Looks like a lead weight, which would take these old rods to the bottom of the ocean, where they belong.

Those are rail chocks.  You use them as a fulcrum when your cranking up a halibut from 500+ feet.

 :yeah: The lip hanging down catches on the gunnel and keeps you from being pulled in, especially if you have the rod connected to your fighting belt.
