First of all, a big Thanks to Rachel and Dan for all the work they are putting in to launch the Snoqualmie Chapter of MDF Banquet. Between finding the venue, working to come up with the menu, finding a group of youth to help out during the banquet, arranging for the auctioneer, and plenty of advice on the prizes, pricing, acquiring donations, underwriters, ticket sales, and advertising, their knowledge and experience are invaluable!
Here's the plan, although I don't believe it's quite "set in stone" yet.
The banquet will be at the Issaquah Holiday Inn on Saturday June 4th. The doors will open at 5:00 for a few hours of social time, viewing the items, purchasing raffle tickets, etc. It will be a cash bar. Tickets look to be in the $70 range (we just need to nail down the menu price), which will get you dinner and annual MDF membership.
There will be a live auction and raffles for some very nice prizes, as well as a general raffle for lots of other prizes.
I'll get more details on the prizes, but there will be several firearms and a few nice trips at least.
Right now, Dan and Rachel are handling a lot of the logistics such as booking the venue, arranging for the FFL, help at the event, etc. Our job, as chapter members, is to do a few things that are critical to our banquet success:
1. Advertise the event! I have some posters which we can post anywhere that posters are allowed such as supermarkets, sporting goods stores, and any other business that will allow it. If you know business owners, please try to arrange to post the poster for the event in their store/shop.
2. SELL TICKETS! We will receive the ticket package from Dan when all details are confirmed. There will be an order form with all ticket pricing (single, couple, corporate, corporate sponsor). It is vital to get as many people there as we can. The venue can hold 150! Family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, your doctor, everyone you can think of should be invited! If you belong to a shooting range/club, make sure you talk to the folks shooting and invite them! There will be a few ways to order tickets, including an online option.
3. Solicit Donations for prizes, cash, and auction items. Folks that underwrite an auction item will get some advertising at the event. I have donation receipts for cash and items. This will enable the donating party to claim the donation on their taxes.
I think we should get together to distribute the posters, receipts, and ticket order forms, and talk about where we post, who and how to sell tickets and solicit donations from. I don't think it will be necessary for Dan and Rachel to be at this meeting as it will be intended to mobilize the chapter members and make the banquet a success! We will also discuss who is responsible for collecting and tracking the tickets and donations. Prizes that we are getting from the MDF will be delivered to my home (except the firearms!), and we might want to figure out what to do about any donations items we receive. I've got plenty of secure storage at my place if needed.
That's about it for now, without going into too much detail. Dan put out an e-mail to a distribution list, but I'm not sure if everyone following this thread is on the distribution list (I think jkthompson put together the e-mail list).
Thanks to those of you who showed up last night, and thanks to jk for trying to make it! Please let me know if you've got any questions!

Thanks Dave! Yes, lets get together for a none formal meeting. I will give you a call this weekend if you are around. Let me know.

Rainier10 and I chatted yesterday. We will have some great success!

Jim,
I'm around, but may be outside catching up on the yard work (or going for a motorcycle ride!) and may not hear the phone. Give me a call any time and if I don't answer, I'll call back.
