Than why are they supporting Wild Olympics's?
Turns second growth mono culture tree stands into wilderness?
No more bicycles?
Roads that could be reopened for forest management gone?
They were supporting when the plan was bigger and much of it would have come under the management of the National Park!
Take a hard look at what they support. It sounds good but, they are way into the politics and not really supporting hunters.

Besides that, I caught his interview with Steve rinella on the meateater podcast and they addressed being accused of being "green decoys" and dismantled that criticism pretty well. I support their goals and don't think much of their criticism. Protecting our wild lands is something I support and I think its okay to take donor money from organizations we don't agree with 100 percent to do so. I plan on joining later this year

Ignorant? I am willing to bet I do far more for hunters and have a far better understanding the environment than you!
No organization that claims to support hunters would support a land grab that is not based on science.
This is a slap in the face to hunters who are trying to maintain access to public lands.
If access was important why would they support this?
I am speaking as someone who works, plays, and hunts in the very public lands they support restricting my access to!

Stated my opinion, and I stand behind it. Won't get in a measuring contest. As for betting on personal contribution..... Well don't be heading to Vegas anytime soon. LolDon't head to Vegas anytime soon? :dunno: I believe that would be a lay bet! BHA has many similarities to CNW.

They are completely and fundamentally different. Ask all the folks out of Roseburg Oregon that now get to DRIVE around on over 200 roads that were once gated. They aren't anti roads/atv, they are anti ILLEGAL ORV use. BIG difference :tup:

At first glance on their web site, the group appears to be anti ORV.
After looking further into some of the reads, it's obvious that is not the case at all. Just promoting legal and ethical use. Which I fully support.

I'm in agreement with dreamnelk. I was interested in BHA in the past. But they were part of the coalition really pushing the Wild Olympics Campaign--including the original proposal. Ack. I could at least understand backing the revised proposals (not that I liked them either), but the original would've taken lots of FS land that is open and accessible to hunters now and transferred it to the national park as actual park. One of the revised proposals gave the land to the park, but under reserve status still allowing hunting but managed by the park. Just shocked that 'hunters' would back the original...figured it was more the backcountry anglers outweighing the hunters. Kind of left a bad taste to me, they now get filed in the same folder as Conservation NW.

I will add this to the ongoing debate over the causes supported by BHA (and for that matter CNW):
You can disagree with them all you want...if you're a MEMBER. If you're not a member you can not change one thing about what they do, what they support or how they operate. Instead, just become a member, get involved, make your case and help steer things in the direction that is important to you. Every voice counts. :twocents:

There is a Pint Night at Hales Ales on the 20th from 6-8. Land Tawney and Ty Stubblefield will be there. We really need WA members to step up and take leadership roles. Currently the chair position is open, and we have not been too active

We will have a pint night in Spokane early this summer, and hopefully some kind of field work day.
Idaho is doing a work project at Craig Mountain on the April 30/May 1st weekend. I can't make it, but there will be some WA folks there.
