Title: .454 for moose?
Post by: jager on January 29, 2009, 01:52:34 PM

I was wondering what those in the know might think about using a .454 Casull for moose?
I know it's been done...Just wanted some opinions.

I know I would certainly feel my 454 Casull would be adequate for Moose, I would limit shots to probably no more than 50 yards personally, but I've never really practiced shooting it any further than that.

It would be great for them out to about 75 yards.  Pick a big bullet.

properly loaded I'd not hesitate to tackle moose with my .45 colt heavy loaded.
