Title: SW WA guide recommendations
Post by: SteelheadTed on April 03, 2016, 04:45:32 PM
Anyone have experience hiring a guide to hunt SW WA for elk?  Is there such a thing as a guide that will help with a hunt but that isn't setting up a camp and all that?  I just want to hire someone to join me for a few days to help me figure some things out.  I'm going on my third season of MF and need to bring my skills to the next level.

:yeah:

If I'm spending 8 grand on an elk hunt I want to be packed WAY in somewhere big and lonely, but to each their own i guess.

Mike Jenkins of Upfront Outfitters is the real deal if you are going with an Outfittrer.
A guide is probably going to shy away from a one or two day job when they are busy for the full season.
You might think about his classes he offers in the spring.
They are 2-3 day scouting lessons and can help you clear up a few of those questions, then hunt yourself come season.

Thanks, good idea, I'll contact them about that.
