Title: 388 turkeys??
Post by: mackej32 on April 05, 2016, 05:58:28 PM
I plan on putting some game cameras out early for deer and was thinking about going opening day for turkey. Plan on going north of goldendale in the area owned by the western pacific timber company. Was wondering if anyone hunts that area and if its worth for me to buy a tag and bring my bow for some early morning turkey hunting? Im in graduate school so money is tight so if its not worth it then I would rather not spend money on a tag since that is the only time I will be able to go out and hunt and put a camera out till late may. Any advice is much appreciated.

Just be aware if you plan to hunt early archery deer it will most likely be closed for fire danger like it has been the last few years. There are a few birds around so anything is possible.

There's birds in the area, usually I have to cover a lot of ground to find them though.

thanks for the info guys! and yeah I have noticed the past few years it being closed due to fire but opens up for late season. Im also hoping i get a multi season permit and can hunt as soon as it opens from fire safety.
