Bears have done about $800 in damage to my trail cameras in five years. This is a much bigger problem that thieves. By April 1st, all my cameras will be in bear proof boxes.

This year I had a video of a cow and calf elk. The cow started eating the moss I hid the camera with, and then started tugging on the strap that held it to the tree.

Yeah, a few years ago I had my buddy leave my icechest and my sleeping bag at elk camp (on private land), because I knew I was coming back in a couple of days to pick it up. WHen I got there my icechest had all 4 corners chewed off, $hit was scattered everywhere, and there was a decent sized paw print on my bag...
...turns out black bears LOVE sweet relish...
