when a cow moose with a calf is shot what happens to the calf? can it make it on their own since moose are not a herd animal like deer and elk? mike w

:dunno: I would imagine that it would be tough for them to survive if they are the same year's calf.
-
you kill two moose when you shoot the cow. Calf would have an almost impossible time surviving. :twocents:

When a buddy drew a cow tag he called the biologist and they said that the calves would be fine.

yea that would be pretty easy to. I need to draw my moose tag before they are all gone.

Benhuntin- You draw that moose tag, be sure to give me a call. I know a nice area :chuckle:

Very low survival for orphan moose calves. From Wyoming 2015 moose regs: Antlerless moose, except cow moose with calf at side
