Title: scope base? is there a scope riser with adjustable elevation?
Post by: NW-GSP on April 13, 2016, 01:32:56 PM
Is there a scope riser that is elevation adjustable?. I have a basic 3x9 scope on my 6.8spc ar but would like to be able to adjust for different distances and was hoping that it would be as easy as using a scope riser that would be adjustable like the higher end scopes have.

Yes just like that but that one is $400 for a couple hundred more I could get a good vortex scope.
I'm guessing spending the money for a better scope would be better but was hoping for a cheaper option.

The problem is that it needs to be a complete unit because if you just raise the rear you will stress the scope tube.  There are some old mounts built for the old sçopes without internal adjustments that will do the job for you.  I think one was called a Karushky or something like that.  I'm pretty sure you will only find them for older rifles.

I will just have to save up the money and get the right scope.
