what exactly is max points? i know some people have like 30+ points :dunno:
i believe Lincoln is alot of private, and the sheep are often in peoples yards
-
Lots of private land but the people in Lincoln are helpful. My uncle had a bighorn tag for Hellsgate last year which is directly across the river from Lincoln. And a couple people in Lincoln helped us out with info on where the sheep were.

Do not believe that's possible. Bonus points are only issued for elk/deer, not for OIL permits. :twocents:

Lincoln is a lot of private land Falcon, I live here, it easy to get permission if you have a sheep tag, not so easy for anything else. The sheep tend to be in the cliffs along the lake from Lincoln to Jones Bay. Which is typically all private. Also you probably will not find any 180 class Rams here but both tags last year were very respectable animals. Probably high 160's one was a chocolate and heavily bloomed the took it for it's character very pretty animal. My nephew is doing the mount on the other tag. Both animals were shot in Jump canyon just west of Lincoln. Hope this helps, and good luck in the draws, I am sitting on 19 points myself for my last OIL.

I will have 21 points this year. I think there are a few people with 22. I believe they got the extra point the year the game dept messed up and had to do a re draw.

Isn't Hellsgate on the Colville Indian Reservation ? I didn't know we could hunt on there. :dunno:
-
You can't. Natives have tags.
-
A bunch of Clemans sheep were relocated there. They are doing well, except the wolves are starting to impact.
-
It was a tribal tag. The tribal biologist said some of the sheep came from Tieton too. They have done really well in there. I think (hope) the tribe should send some wheel back to Tieton when they decide to start that heard back up after the grading issues are fixed.

I seen a couple of videos from last years hell's canyon hunts and there were some decent rams.
-
There were at least 75 ewes and young sheep in Hellsgate two years ago. I also saw about 15 young Rams. When I spoke to the bio he said at least one ewe swam the river from Hellsgate to Lincoln. They looked healthy but they didn't have wolves chasing them
